THE HEAT, OH THE HEAT!

It's almost too hot to knit. Now if that's not a good description, I don't know what is. Notice I said "almost" because I've managed somehow to carry on. I haven't however, taken any new photos but believe me, that clapotis is coming right along. I've dropped 8 stitches and can't wait to get home tonight to drop some more. I'm counting on having this finished for my San Diego trip week after next, knowing it will come in handy for cold, cold meeting rooms.

I wish I had some interesting tale to share but alas...

Clapotis Finalis!!

Well a beginning picture anyway. Actually I've made much progress since this photo and will be starting the straight rows this evening. I'm still very anxious about how this thing works and can't wait to get it finished.

It's hot in Arkansas today and the bad weekend news is that it will be even hotter. Perfect weather for knitting no? YES! I certainly have no business being outside in that heat. Actually I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time tomorrow at my lys where it will be plenty cool. I need a little help (or at least supervision or at least just moral support) in finishing a poncho that I started a lonnnnnng time ago. It's a gift and so close to being finished, I need my head examined. I've come this far and it's the Colinette Giotto (so pretty and colorful!) and I'm afraid of messing it up and having to start all over. I'm way too insecure huh? Anyway, that's my big weekend plan. Hey, that's pretty good for me.

I still have 4 more hours of work (lunch time now) and I can't wait for it to be over. I love Fridays but sometimes the afternoon part passes too slowly!! If only I could knit...

I'll try to post a new pic of the clappy this weekend. Maybe a finished clappy??

Here they are!

OK, we're gonna try this picture thing one more time.

This is my collared shawl from the Sally Melville book. It was fun to do and a bit challenging for me which was a good thing. I used the Rowan Cotton Tweed, it was very nice to work with and I liked the way it looked. These pics were taken before blocking and it actually looked better after that but alas, no model was available. You'll have to take my word for it.

My lovely model is very shy btw, that's why she is faceless on my blog...

Now to get back to that darned clapotis. I'm lovin it but sure got off to a rocky start. I want to take it with me in a couple of weeks when I attend a conference where I just know the rooms will be sub-zero. Wish me luck.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo!!!!!

I just lost an entire post! I can't even believe I did that. Seems my bad knitting karma (spoken of in said lost post) has spread to the blogging thing, OY.

Good grief. And all I wanted to do was show pics of my Collared Shawl from Sally Melville's Purl Stitch book. That should be easy enough, no? Well maybe it isn't easy at all. I'll try again later, no more patience for now, sorry.

Much excitement!

I canNOT believe that I've had actual readers. Thank you so much for the encouragement, I really appreciate it.

Now I feel that I must become more dedicated to this adventure and get with the program for sure.

This was my first and only hat experience. I have a dear friend who has brain cancer and I wanted to make her a soft hat. I wish I could remember the name of this yarn but I can't right now. It's a cotten blend and really soft and was nice to work with. (it's ggh GOA, 50% cotton, 50% polyacryl acrylic and sort of velvety feeling)

The color got all washed out in the completed version but hopefully my photographic skills will improve along with the blogging ones. (what blogging skills you ask;-) Good question!

So there's a new installment and I will try to add more later today. The picture thing is new to me so I'm sloooooooooow.

Hey, it's Friday!!! I hope you all have some fun plans for the weekend!!

Holiday Schmoliday

The big 3 day weekend is here and I am SO not excited about it and have nothing planned. Bah humbug.

My boss' daughter who was due in mid-August gave birth early on Thursday evening so now I am waaaay behind on the BBBB, OY.

I have nothing to report but wanted to check in. I know I'm too boring for words and I'm very grateful that I have no readers at this point.

I need to get busy and knit!!!
